Hellas Direct is a Greek digital insurance company with over 1 million clients specialising in motor and property insurance. Founded in 2012, the company is focused on providing smart, modern, and affordable services in Greece and beyond. In 2022, they entered two new markets: Romania and the Czech Republic, with more on the horizon.
But without HR resources on the ground in these new markets, they faced a critical hiring challenge—how to find the best people with the right skills while ensuring a strong cultural fit?
The challenge
Building a commercial team across borders
Hellas Direct needed two Sales Managers to strengthen broker partnerships while driving new business for the brand in Romania and the Czech Republic. A key aspect of the role was to adapt the existing framework from Greece and tailor it to the local markets.
Despite a strong market position in Cyprus and Greece, the company faced these hiring challenges when expanding:
• Building brand recognition: Being new to the countries makes it difficult to attract talent without an established employer brand.
• Ensuring cultural alignment: Finding candidates who fit both the role and company culture.
• Adapting to new markets: Identifying and engaging the right talent in new markets required a different approach than usual.
To keep up with their ambitious growth plans, they needed a recruitment partner that understood their binding culture, could bring expertise in sourcing high-quality candidates, and streamline the hiring process.

• Growth Associate in Romania
• Commercial Manager in the Czech Republic
• As well as a Head of Claims in Athens
